"Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them; and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth." - Jeremiah 33:6
Our Mission
The Health & Homebound Ministry is adult women and men of the parish of any profession who desire to care for the sick and homebound. We respond to the spiritual and emotional needs of sick and homebound parishioners and their families. We also provide general health and wellness information to educate the parish community.
What We Do
The Health & Homebound Ministry promotes good health and wellness to the parish community through the Annual Health Fair and other special activities.
A huge part of our advocacy is coordinating ride-shares for homebound and physically challenged parishioners to attend Mass and scheduling home visits for receiving the Communion. We offer training to bring the Holy Eucharist to the homebound.
Flagship Activities:
Mass of the Anointing of the Sick (April and November)
Open to all parishioners! We are actively seeking medical professionals and those certified in nutrition and fitness.
We meet on the fourth Saturday of every month at 11:00 a.m., excluding July-August and November-December.
Take the next step! Submit the form and someone from the Health & Homebound Ministry will be in touch!
Are You Homebound? We Can Help.
Are you, or someone you care about, currently facing health challenges or finding it difficult to leave home? Our Health & Homebound Ministry is dedicated to providing compassionate support and connection to members of our community during these times. Whether you could benefit from a friendly visit, receiving Holy Communion at home, a supportive phone call, or simply knowing someone is praying for you, we are here to help. Please reach out to Dr. Janet Johnson at [email protected] to learn more about how our ministry can serve you.
Donate Medical Equipment!
The Health & Homebound Ministry's collection of donated medical equipment is critically important for our St. Augustine community. This initiative provides direct, practical support to church and school members facing illness, injury, or mobility challenges by making essential items like walkers, wheelchairs, or bath aids accessible. It is especially important for those who may struggle with costs or only need temporary assistance.
It's a powerful expression of communal care, easing burdens for individuals and families, promoting independence and dignity, and ensuring that gently used resources directly benefit those in need within our church and school family.
