Team HOPE seeks to live the Gospel by assisting our brothers and sisters in and on the verge of homelessness by increasing economic opportunities, outreach, and linkages to immediate support, ongoing advocacy efforts, and education.

The St. Augustine Homeless Ministry also known as Team Hope began in January 2010, when a gentleman was observed sleeping on the porch of the church. After several call to action meetings, prayer and planning, our ministry was born.

What we didn't know was how far reaching God's work would take us. In the past decade, Team Hope has done direct street outreach, meeting the people where they are throughout the pandemic at least once a month handing out food, blankets, warm clothing in the winter, water, toiletries, resource information and holiday gift boxes. We have also hosted community events in collaboration with five shelters run by Catholic Charities and House of Ruth, and special holiday events sponsored by Sasha Bruce Youthworks. Our goal has always been to be the bearers of the Good News of Christ and to continue and honor the St. Augustine Mission in Motion. It is wonderful, addictive work!

Flagship Activities:

• Feet on the Street" outreach once a month
• 'Community Day' cookout at various shelters twice per year
• Annual churchwide Breakfast of Hope fundraiser usually held in October
• Special outreach activities in collaboration with the St. Augustine Catholic School students during Catholic Schools Week Community Day.
