Community Service Opportunities

We will continue to pass along community service opportunities to you in an effort to increase support of these important efforts and to make community service a year-long effort. Below is a list of current opportunities and a reminder about upcoming events.

Thanks for your support of these important efforts. These are but a few ways we can all reach out and do God's work, especially for our brothers and sisters who may not feel that God really does love them. May God continue to bless you as you do his work!!

Cup of Joe Community Service Project

We are looking for Sunday School parents and children to volunteer for our Annual Cup of Joe Community Service Project. This project is part of the Catholic Charities Organization initiative and will provide all supplies. This year, we plan to create and deliver 1,000 meal kits over the course of three days. The schedule is as follows: Friday 2nd March (9:30am - 12:00pm) - Pick up supplies at Share Food Warehouse, located at 3222 Hubbard Road, Hyattsville, MD. Saturday 3rd March (9:00am - 1:00pm) - Load supplies into the St. Augustine School cafeteria, assemble bags and load them into cars. Monday 5th March (9:30am - 11:00am) - Deliver meal kits to The 801 East Men’s Shelter, located at 2700 Martin Luther King Blvd, SE Washington DC. 	We are seeking volunteers to sign up for Coffee and Donuts in the coming weeks and into 2017. We provide this service to Sunday School parents and student on a weekly basis. Any donuts purchased can be reimbursed. Coffee will be provided by the Sunday School Hospitality Committee. Location: St. Augustine Cafeteria (Ground floor) Every first Sunday of the month: St. Augustine Room (Gymnasium)

	In 2017, we had a successful Christmas Nativity Play. We have a number of opportunities for kids and parents. Please check back during the 2018-2019 school year for sign-ups. Visit our Facebook page to view photos of the play.
