Call for Nominations to the PPC

The Parish Pastoral Council, or PPC, works with the Pastor to help guide the spiritual and pastoral life of our parish community. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of Saint Augustine Parish through prayerful discernment, leadership, and service.
We are seeking four parishioners to serve a three-year term as General Members, with representation from each Mass community.
Nominees must be registered Catholic members of Saint Augustine Parish who are active in parish life and committed to the mission of the Church. We especially encourage nominations of parishioners who are involved in ministry, community life, and evangelization.
You may nominate yourself or another parishioner, but please confirm the person is willing to serve before submitting their name.
Starting today, nomination forms are available - you can submit online through Flocknote or on the parish website, or scan the QR code at the Welcome Desk, OR pick up a paper form at the back of the church at the Welcome Desk.
The deadline for nominations is Sunday, May 24 at 11:59 p.m.Four (4) seats are open for General Members on the Parish Pastoral Council.GUIDELINES:
The PPC is called to empower and equip parishioners to become actively engaged in the very real work of leading people to a deeper and closer encounter with Christ. We are also called to lead by example. Therefore, nominating an individual to serve on the PPC should be done prayerfully, carefully, and with a healthy amount of discernment. Equally, discerning whether God is calling you to be a member of thePPC should be done in a spirit of humility and with a desire to be of service to others.
WHO CAN NOMINATE:
Catholic, registered, and faithful members of Saint Augustine Parish who:- have more than one year of active and willing participation in the life and activities of the Parish, and
- ideally is someone who is strong in one, if not all, of the following areas:
a. Has an active and daily prayer life
b. Is informed on issues affecting the Parish
c. Is knowledgeable of Catholic teaching, culture and tradition
d. Practices his or her faith daily and participates in the Sacraments
e. Has an understanding nature and likes to work with people
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER NOMINATIONS:- Nominees will be contacted by a current member of the PPC and given the opportunity to accept or decline their nomination.
- If the nomination is accepted, the Nominee will then be invited to an informational session/interview with the Pastor and the Nomination Committee.
- After the informational session, the Nominee will be presented to the parish as a Parish Pastoral Council Election Candidate via a brief biography and photograph that will be posted in the rear of the church and online.
